With holiday season finally here, we're all looking forward to escaping to the sun. A whole week soaking up the sun and taking it easy can be hard work so, to make sure you get the most out of the summer sunshine, just follow these tantastic tips!

Prepare your skin

The first thing to do is to ensure your skin is prepared. Exfoliating your skin is a great way to get rid of any dead skin cells and to improve the top layers of your skin. Use a body scrub or an exfoliating mitt in the shower or bath each day to keep skin supple. Consider it your own personalised gift to yourself.

Moisturise

None of us moisturise our skin as much as we should. The key to a long lasting tan is well prepared skin so after exfoliating, make sure you apply body lotion. Apply body lotion or a body cutter when you first step out of the shower or bath. Moisturise all over every day and add more lotion to any areas that are prone to dry skin.

Face Facts

Your face is exposed to dangerous UV rays everyday, whether you're sunning yourself in Spain or on your daily commute to work! Choose a facial moisturiser with a sun protection factor. Some tinted moisturisers also contain an SPF but if at any point your face feels tight whilst you're sunbathing, apply some regular sun cream over your daily moisturiser to prevent burning.

Pack A Range Of Sunscreens

At the start of your holiday, your skin will be especially sensitive to the sun's rays and prone to sunburn. Apply cream regularly and avoid the midday sun. Start your holiday with a high SPF and gradually lower the protection factor when you start to pick up an even colour.

More Moisturising

After days of sun worshipping, your skin will need some tender loving care. Make sure you apply aftersun lotion or a cooling moisturiser religiously to reduce the risk of early peeling and dry skin.
